Iron Mountain Warehouse Operations Supervisor - 2nd Shift in North Bergen, New Jersey

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for all daily operations including Shipping, Receiving, Inquiry and Custom Assembly. The Operations Supervisor ensures that all orders are processed within MakeSpace’s systems and guidelines and is responsible for onboarding and training all new employees, and will report directly to the Operations Manager, Consumer Storage.
Full Time Schedule Options: Tuesday - Saturday generally working 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
Supervises and assigns specific responsibilities to all operations and logistics personnel
Motivates, mentors and empowers team to meet and exceed standards or set goals
Monitors employee attendance, productivity and other performance markers
Effectively uses metrics to aid accountability and measure performance
Builds internal and external relationships; fosters collaboration
Responsible for the efficient, timely and accurate fulfillment of orders, custom assembly, processing inquiries, shipping, and inventory control
Establish production processes and continuously measure performance
Manage workload to meet workloads, goals, and guidelines consistent with the Facility’s profit objectives
Continuously review areas of responsibility to increase productivity and improve efficiency
Ensure all work is performed by the specified turnaround time (standard is 99.8% on time)
Responsible for employee safety, security of the building, equipment, and grounds
Responsible for the efficient allocation and utilization of manpower, equipment, and resources
Communicate and interact with employees to optimize task performance while maintaining a high level of morale
Ensure that measurable “standards & expectations” for each position in departments are written and updated frequently.
Train employees in key job skills
Provide leadership to the team, set a personal example for others to emulate
Keep all commitments, operate with integrity, and promote “open book” management style
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, operations or other service-related environment preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
Strong customer service skills; values customers and communicates with them in a professional manner
Proven work experience in team-oriented, participative management environment
Proficient in use of computers and systems (G-Suite, Slack currently used by our operation)
Proficient in the use of third-party software and systems used in the operations environment
Experience in leading, motivating, and training employees
Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record; able to pass pre-employment drug testing and a background investigation as conditions of employment
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
