The initial responsibilities for this role will revolve around the implementation processes and activities related to the onboarding, transition and initial operation set up for the Digital Solutions group across a large Financial Institution, which will ultimately be Iron Mountain’s largest Customer. These implementation activities will yield successful transition and set up across multiple sites that meet the requirements & timeframes of this large customer as well as the operational & financial expectations of Iron Mountain.

This role encompasses end to end planning and ownership of the work and oversight of both Customer- facing staff (implementation managers) responsible for project management functions of implementation, the technical resources responsible for creating and testing new workflows to support the project, as well as the initial set up and operations in partnership with the Field Director of Digital Solutions and Programs. Key stakeholders include Sales Support & Solutioning team as well as field operations management and leadership. Relationships will need to be fostered across Sales, Operations & IT.

Once this customer is up and running, additional mortgage service clients will be folded under the responsibilities of this leader.

This leader will develop the overall strategy for the solutions we will offer to the mortgage services industry, the road map for the business unit and execute against those strategies and the road map with their team. The initial responsibility will be approximately $35M, growing to $50M when additional customers become part of the business unit and we expect the VP , Mortagage Solutions to grow the business in line with IM expectations north of $100M dollars within several years.

As additional solutions for the industry are developed in potential areas like Block Chain machine learning artificial intelligence and RFID, the business could exceed $200M. We are looking for a strategic leader with strong commercial acumen, and a solid understanding of the technology required to support this product line .


  • Responsible for overall delivery of customer facing solutions and operational production systems that support customer deliverables.

  • Leading the teams who understand and finalize Customer requirements based upon a Statement of Work.

  • Transition of people, process and technology to Iron Mountain Standards

  • Driving correct and final workflow designs that will meet Customer requirements, utilizing existing standards and tools whenever possible and delivering a stable & scalable workflow that deliver the operational throughputs, quality and other Service Level Agreements envisioned in the Sales process.

  • Building teams that deliver value and quality work to the business and our customers.

  • Providing leadership while evaluating current talent levels; demonstrating executive courage and having difficult conversations/making difficult decisions where necessary; developing and enhancing the overall skills and capabilities of the team

  • Executing to standard processes & methodologies within industry standard while still delivering the transformation financial results expected.

  • Support and develop processes for providing regular updates on Implementation schedules; internally and externally.

  • Expertly manage Project Management and Technical resource scheduling and utilization.

  • Assist Project/Programme Managers with the development of detailed project plans – provide subject matter expertise to ensure project plans reflect right level of detail

  • Actively participate in review of project progress (working with Project/Programme Managers and Business PMO) and take preventive action to mitigate risks (functional, technical, resource, etc.)

  • Leverage industry experience & background to advise/course-correct plans to ensure Iron Mountain follows best practices

  • Support executive decision making, reports programme and implementation status, identifies skill gaps and initiates activities to close the gaps

  • Establishes and maintains appropriate business relationships with assigned customer and programme participants and acts as management focal point for programme-related activities

  • Ensures customer satisfaction – understand/establish key performance metrics - quality, reliability, responsiveness, budget targets, etc. and ensure necessary IT Service Delivery reports are followed (collaborate with Global IT Service Delivery and Compliance stakeholders)

  • Actively support and Comply with all IT Governance activities.

People Leadership:

  • Lead project management and technical teams and diverse resource pool to consistently meet customer and business objectives.

  • Oversee staff development including recruitment, setting stretch performance goals, conducting performance reviews, developing training plans

  • Provide consistent and clear feedback to team members on performance against goals and objectives

  • Identify critical roles and ensure succession plans are put in place to mitigate risk to the business

  • Identify, reward and promote high-potential candidates within established HR processes / frameworks

Decision Making Authority and Budgetary Responsibility

  • Responsible for determining tools, solution and workflow that will meet both Customer and Operational needs for new implementations and be consistent with business line strategy and corporate governance

  • Managing to agreed upon budget with authority over human resource actions within staff in conjunction with HR business partners and Iron Mountain policies

  • Authority to approve departmental travel and normal SG&A expenses for team

  • Overall P&L owner for the Mortgage Solutions business

  • Broad knowledge and technical background in document management; Experience with information management

  • Experience with Kofax Capture, Kofax KTM and Alfresco a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA or similar).

  • Must have demonstrated ability for independent decision making, supporting large customer groups, and managing highly visible projects

  • Must be able to deliver work efficiently through formal and informal channels and display broad understanding of business practices and policies

  • Ability to work well in a globally matrixed organization that is fast paced with heavy competition for scarce resources

  • Proven ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple sites

  • Must be able to manage programmes assigned such that high-impact issues are identified, understood, communicated, and dealt with in a manner that mitigates risk to the programme
