At Iron Mountain, our Release of Information Manager safeguards what our customers value most. This is a dynamic and highly visible role based onsite at our customer location in Birmingham, AL. Pay: $90,000.00 annually Plus 10% Bonus (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm (On site)

JOB FUNCTION:

Manage and monitor release of information workflow. Maintain adherence to policy and procedures to safeguard and protect patient privacy and protected health information.

Develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through exceptional problem solving, ownership, and follow-through. Work closely with external stakeholders and legal professionals to facilitate release of confidential information.

Analyze and maintain departmental service quality, including adherence to the customer SLA, and compliance with state and federal regulations/HIPPA Regulation.

Compile and communicate department financial data. Investigate and solve questionable data/reporting. Recommend solutions and changes for improving financial performance. Manage budget and expenses.

Develop written goals and career development plans for Release of Information team. Ensure performance management in alignment with goals. Assess and define department training needs and participate in cross training, on-the-job training and new hire training.

REQUIREMENTS/ SKILLS:

Associate’s, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience required. R.H.I.T. credentials required. If you have R.H.I.A., achievement of the RHIT will be required.

Minimum of 3 years of health information management, service industry or healthcare experience required.

A minimum of 3 years management experience is required.

Experience with managing human resources; developing and administering budgets; developing and administering processes; familiarity with electronic medical records and other automated systems within HIM; customer service oriented

Familiarity with complex organizations and matrix management.

COMPETENCIES:

Leadership Abilities: A Release of Information manager should have strong leadership abilities to guide their team to success.

Communication Skills: A Release of Information manager should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Attention to Detail: A Release of Information manager must pay close attention to detail to ensure that confidential information is released only to authorized parties.

Compliance Knowledge:

A Release of Information manager should have a strong understanding of confidentiality laws and regulations.

Problem-Solving Skills: A Release of Information manager should be able to identify problems and come up with solutions to overcome them.

Interpersonal Skills: A Release of Information manager should have excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with staff members, customers, and other stakeholders
