Iron Mountain Operations/Transportation Manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Transportation Manager

To manage the district's transportation function across a business line to ensure efficient and responsive customer service by leading and coaching a high performance team and complying with federal, state and IM regulations. To synchronize all aspects of transportation functions with other operations functions within the assigned district or outside the district if necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily transportation operations in an effective manner in order to meet or exceed established goals around Production, Service Levels, and Quality Metrics. Establish and maintain an effective scanning platform. Develop, utilize and obtain expert level proficiency in daily operations reporting and interpret results into meaningful action. plans to achieve various targets. Establish, maintain and lead an effective courier check in and check out process on a daily basis. Gain expert level proficiency on the Roadnet routing suite in order to manage and lead a high performing, efficient transportation network and be able to measure and quantify effect of major business effects on the transportation operation. Accountable for variances to plan in all measured Areas of Route Performance.

  • Drive margin by controlling costs through review of reports on OT, service levels, fleet maintenance etc. Analyze and understand budget variance within transportation; investigate and problem solve questionable data/reporting. Review reports, make recommendations for changes to improve financial performance..

  • Motivate, develop, coach and counsel employees; progressive disciplinary action when necessary. Responsible for hiring, terminations and performance management and reviews. Communicate new programs and district/company business information on a regular basis.

  • Manage compliance to corporate programs, DOT and IFTA requirements. Responsible for DQ, Hours of Service, IFTA / HUT reporting. Manage and comply to NAO Vehicle Maintenance Programs.

  • Manage and comply to NAO Safety and Security Programs to include Safety and Security Policy, WMFI Inspections, Safety communications, local Safety committee.

Qualification:

  • Provide key leadership to Market Transportation team and is directly responsible for supervisor level and below.

  • The transportation manager will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing solutions for various situations such as: Servicing New Customers, Root Cause Analysis on Metrics , Action Planning to Improved Performance, Human Resources Issues.

  • The transportation manager is a critical role in Market Transportation Operations impacting TCS, Operational Excellence and Transportation personnel morale and development.

  • Total travel: 10%; Local travel: 10% (Varies depending on Market/District).

  • Education/Experience: 4 year college degree/3 - 5 years.
